Biography
THE HEWITT SISTERS
At the early
age of five and seven, Ashlee and Katrice Hewitt loved
singing together and you couldn’t tear them apart. They
performed at different churches around their home town
of Lancaster, Minnesota. Their dream was to become a
country music duo. In the year 2001 they formed a five
piece band and started playing at fairs, clubs, casinos
and festivals all over Minnesota every weekend.
Growing up on a horse and cattle ranch in a family of 13
children, the girls balanced home schooling, chores, and
their music and continuously found themselves striving
to move forward in their music career.
In the spring of 2002, The Hewitt Sisters opened for
Lorrie Morgan at the Red River Valley Fair in North
Dakota where they met producer, Mark Oliverius. They
started writing songs to prepare for a demo they planned
to record in the near future. They continued to tour,
opening for many of their role models such as Joe
Nichols, Trick Pony, Billy Currington, Emerson Drive and
Josh Gracin. They sang the National Anthem for the
Minnesota Twins and headlined with Lee Greenwood at the
FargoDome in North Dakota.
The Hewitt Sisters, Ashlee, 19 and Katrice, 22 are
celebrating their 14th year of performing together as a
sister duo. For the past five years they have been
performing over 100 shows per year in five different
states.
